Diminution (Loss In Value)
As a result of a motor accident you may not be able to sell your motor vehicle for the same price as you would have if it had not been damaged, particularly if it is a new or prestige vehicle.
The fact is that, if a prospective buyer of a vehicle is asked whether they would prefer to buy one that had not been involved in an accident they would always say yes and as a result dealers will always give less in part exchange for a vehicle which has been damaged in a vehicle notwithstanding it has been adequately repaired.
If you have an accident in a performance or cherished vehicle, the reduction in value of that vehicle varies between 4% and 14% of its pre-accident value, notwithstanding it is repaired by a manufacturer approved repairer.
